The Forge

Welcome to The Forge at Croft Farm. We hope the information below will be useful and provide most of what you need to know to make your stay safe, comfortable and enjoyable.

Essential Information

We aim to maintain high standards of accommodation and comfort for our
guests. Please observe the following points to help with this:

  • Please ensure that you secure the front door/s when left open, with the hooks provided.

  • All water is straight from the mains supply and can be used for drinking purposes.

  • A fire blanket is located on the wall opposite the airing cupboard.

  • The storage heaters are on a night time economy seven system. Before going to bed it is a good idea to turn the output controls down, to avoid being too hot overnight and conserve heat for later in the day when they can be turned up again. DO NOT COVER THE HEATERS WITH CLOTHING OR TOWELS.

  • During the summer months it is unlikely that the storage heaters themselves will be required. If additional heat is needed the storage heater near the stairs has a convector heater fitted to it, which can be turned on or off as required at any time of day. The convector heater in the bedroom can be used in the same way.

  • Please do not leave the roof lights wide open when you go out, in case of a storm. Always shut the escape roof light.

  • Please ensure the sunshade is down and tied when not in use

  • Please notify us, as soon as possible, of any faulty equipment or breakage.

  • Rubbish may be placed in the household waste and recycling bins located in the fence adjacent to the parking area. Please put glass separately in the crate.
  • Please make sure you clean up after your dog. Bagged dog poo can be placed in the general refuse bin located in the fenced area just outside The Forge.

  • Farm buildings and yard areas away from the footpaths are out of bounds. For families with young children please note that there may at times be farm machinery and vehicles using the tracks between the buildings.

  • On the day of departure please vacate the cottage by 9AM so that cleaning and preparation for the next guests can be carried out.PLEASE PUT BAGGED HOUSEHOLD WASTE INTO THE OUTSIDE BIN IN THE PARKING AREA.

  • If you need assistance please call at the front door of the main farmhouse,  phone 01728 688254 (answer phone available), or contact Eddie on 07710137619.
