Guests to Croft Farm have exclusive access to our Nature Trail, a circular walk around the farm which begins and ends right on your doorstep. The route isn’t signposted so we recommend taking a phone with you to view the map and directions below just in case.
Please keep dogs on a lead at all times.
This walk starts and ends in the bottom right corner of the route marked in green on the map above – where you should be able to make out the aerial view of the farmyard and caravan sites.
Take the track past the front of the Granary and the Farmhouse leading to Hulver lane.
Turn right into Hulver Lane and walk 200 metres to a farm track on the left-hand side.
Follow this track alongside the fields and down into the pine trees.
This track finishes at the Bailey bridge that allows farm vehicles to cross the River Fromus.
Admire the view from the Bridge before returning a very short distance towards the pine trees and taking a left turn along the riverside trail.
Meander with the river until you reach a stile crossing into a grass meadow (if there are horses in the meadow you will be directed round the outside of the fence).
Walk through or around the meadow, up a very steep slope and alongside the left-hand fence until you reach Hulver Lane.
Please ensure you shut any field gates.
You are now back to Hulver lane.
Cross Hulver lane onto the mown field edge with firstly hedge and then horse paddock on your left.At the end of the horse paddock turn right.
Follow the field edge and then very shortly go through a gap in the hedge to follow the mown track around the field edges until you reach the main farm access track from the A1094.
